Title: Dewalt 40-694 set up
Post by: jpaskell on January 17, 2022, 12:03:12 pm
Good morning all,
Just set up my new Delta scroll saw 40-694.
Have the table set in the indent and table at 0 deg.
However the saw blade is very close, like a out 0.006 the the left side (edge)of the hole.
Not sure how to adjust the table to move it or the blade to the center.
Any tips or hints would be helpful.
Thanks,
Jim

Jim, a lot of times the alignment with the blade being in the center of the hole on the table is adjusted by simply loosing the bolts/screws holding the table, adjusting and then retightening. If you are talking about the table being 90 degrees to the blade when from the factory, these also may take minor adjustments. The best way to check this is using a piece of wood that is just able to go from the table to the upper arm with a blade installed. Feed the wood into the blade about 1/16 of an inch just enough to see the saw line. Then flip the piece of wood over and see if it aligns with the back of the blade. If it is straight up and down when held against the blade, your table is square with the blade. There are a lot of videos showing this on Youtube and Steve has a video on this also. Hope this helps.

Rodney,
Thanks for the note.  Discovered. (after forgetting the trunion had slots,) I loosened them and adjusted the table.  Pretty close to center now.
Thanks for the tip, it worked great.
Thanks again,
Jim
