NEWS  ALERT...
Washington, D.C.
May 28, 2010, 4:00 p.m. CDT

DeWalt Tool Company, manufacturer of the famous DW 788 Scroll Saw has been cited for failure to include the following warning label on all of the aformentioned Scroll Saws!

WARNING:

Assembly and Initial Use of the DeWalt DW788 Scroll Saw MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH!

Assembling and using this SAW has been shown to cause SEVERE ADDICTION to the
hobby of Scrolling!

Proceed with Extreme Caution!

Once Assembled and Used this SAW has been shown to cause hobbyists to seriously question
their choice of any other model of Scroll Saw.

Continued Use of the DW 788 WILL in MOST  hobbyists cause extreme addiction leading to loss of sleep, loss of family members and marriage partners and dramatic increase in the urge to complete projects heretofore never attempted!

Hobbyists are URGED to proceed with Extreme Caution!

Good on ya!   I have the jim dandy lifter now, and do not know how I got along without it.  I used a hunk of wood for years.

There is an allen screw on left side of the arm towards the back that adjusts the tinsion for holding the arm up by itself

Being single and alone, I hug my DeWalt 788 each time I go to the shop.
In fact it is getting jealous because I spend way to much time reading the forum that I could be spending with him  ;)

Judy....I hug mine every time friend 'room mate' wants to put her car in the garage so 'she' gets a lot of hugs!

Funny how we think of our prized possessions....Guys refer to them as 'her' and Gals do vicey versey!
