marquetry scroll saw work

not sure if any of you do this type of scrollsaw work , but this it where i start out using the scroll saw .this is my first coffee table top.

That is beautiful work. We don't have many readers on my blog that do marquetry. Thanks for sharing the picture. It will probably inspire others to give it a try.

So what are the dimension of these? How did you manage to do this on your saw? They seem to big for the standard 20" throat.
This is such beautiful work, I love it!!

Please let us know more about how you did this. Im very curious.

hi gary, they are 26" tops.with this technique you work with veneers, with these i use pine and andiroba. The circle is cut into quarters and stack together alternating the woods light ,dark all the way to the top . the 8 pieces are then cut all at once so then they fit into each other perfectly .note that the design is one long cut.so both top are made at the same time you just alternate the colours when laying it out for glueing
