Moose
« on: February 16, 2011, 07:50:24 pm »
My cousin had a baby recently and has the baby's room all decorated in moose stuff, she said it didn't matter if it was a boy or girl moose and cabin type stuff was fun. So when after the baby was born I cut this out. I was really glad the baby was a boy, I wanted to do this pattern but wasn't sure if I could bring myself to cut it for a little girl.
Anyway, I haven't given it to my cousin yet but I can't wait, I wanted to share it with someone.
Thanks
MrsN

oh, I forgot to add in the specs about the project.
The frame is oak stained "early american"
The back is Baltic Birch Ply stained "jacobean"
and the moose is 1/8" baltic birch ply
Thanks for the compliments

Fantastic job, fair lady!

Guess you have convinced me to try some wood backings and incorporate them into the design.

Frankorona... I like the new picture!!!

Thanks everybody, you are so kind.
I really liked the way the wood looked. I tried with some other backing materials, but didn't like them as well. It also really goes well with the "up north" feel of the moose. With this project I actually took pictures of the moose with the other backings and then compared the photos. I was being a little indecisive. I'm a woman, I am almost supposed to be indecisive. I got it narrowed down to this one or green paint wash on wood (you could see the grain of the wood, but it was green)

Frankorona - you are so kind, thank you.
