@crusty, the heart is 1/4" part of an old dresser (don't know what the wood is) stained Sedona red. The base is 1/2" clear pine painted satin Aubergine with black spray webbing to make it look marbleish. The names are 3/8" pine with Danish oil.

excellent work on a really neat design, theyre going to love it.

thank you all,that is spot on what i was looking for,i took crusty advive and orded pattern from woodcraft,usa,i am useless with computor so please bear with me,i have been trying to put some photos on site and last week asked for advice from members,i had answer,s in a few hours,however i am getting message saying that file is to large to upload,remember i am slow with this computor so please tell me what i should do next,please remember i am a novice.many thanks to you all.

hi crusty 59,made a few of these now,however i do have trouble with rings keep snapping them,i have glued a few of the rings instead of cutting the joint,i am not happy wiyh doing that as i feel i am cheating,any tips on cutting joints,i have only been scrolling for a year since i retired but i love it,hope you can give me some advice,many thanks lion123

I like the date at the bottom, great idea. Lion, as far as snaping the rings. Try and cut the extended part that goes inside the ring holder a little shorter. That way when you spread the ring it won't snap. just a dab of glue and it won't move
