WIP - Piggy Bank
« on: August 11, 2012, 11:48:33 pm »
The wood is pine, the pattern is a pig cutting board pattern that I have modified for the purposes of making it a bank.  When done the bank will have plexiglass sides with brass screws holding them on.  Currently the bank only has 3 coats of tung oil on it to seal the wood.  I am undecided if I wish to paint it or not.  The cork is just a short piece of 1 1/2 inch dowel with a 1/8 inch dowel installed so that the cork does not fall out.

Very Cool DW! I always prefer natural wood over paint, but that's just me!
I'm sure it will be fine either way.

I love your cork!  I've made a few piggy banks but have always bought a plug or cork.  Yours is way better and I'll use your idea next time.

DW seems to 'hog' the market on clever ideas so we have to 'root' around and come up with a real 'snorter' and not get 'boared'!

Nice job on the bank and the 'plug' is a great idea!!!

Thanks for allowing us to benefit from your many talents!

I hope to be 'bacon' one of these some day soon!

GB, with the price of corn so high because of the drought, maybe you shouldn't be handing it out so freely.....Please!?  ::)
