Interesting....   I'll  have to remember that if pulling harder on my blade stops working :)

I have the 40-695 and have experienced this a few times.   I  found that I wasn't getting the blade pulled tight enough when placing in the bottom blade holder.  This was usually  on  a blade that had been used awhile and had a bend in it.  Grabbing the blade with a needle nose seemed to help when I tightened the lower holder.  My tension is perfect at
2 to 2.5.

EXCELLENT....   I went out the other day and wiped all  the sawdust off  my 695.  I  stood  back  with a smile....   It  looked as good  as the first day it arrived.  I have had No problems at all  with mine.  I wish you many hours of trouble free cutting.  You will  enjoy the upper arm lift.

Wow....  One day I hope to display such work.   I  am at the stage where I am still building my skills and learning new techniques.  Work like this feeds our addiction.

Just a thought....   But it looks  like your saw is underpowered to be grinding to a halt like
that.   Have you looked at upgradding the motor to a larger horsepower.  Don't know the condition of the rest of your saw but it might be a cheaper alternative.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Wow.... Actually got to saw yesterday
« on: January 20, 2013, 11:32:17 am »
With a pleasent warm day in the lower 60's  here in Kansas City yesterday , I actually got to turn my saw on and complete a project I had taped up and drilled.  After about a hour or two I finished the project just  the eyes started getting fuzzy.   Since it was very sunny I decided to get out of the garage grab a beer and sit on the deck and start preping for my next task of the day....The wife had plans for me to BBQ dinner.

I have the Delta 695 since about June and Love it.   You will like the upper arm lift that is built in. Push the button and lift and it clicks into place.   I  do it one handed and it's a piece of cake.  Makes top feeding a breeze.  The only problem with the saw is I don't have enough time to fully use it  :)

Dennis...   Congrats on your new saw.  I have the Delta clone and love it.  I  did  put 3 inch locking casters on my saw to move around as well.  That raised the height by a 1 1/2".
I  use a 30" bar stool  to  sit on and that is about perfect for me. Add  lots of weight  to  your cross member on your stand.   The saw will  be  VERY top heavy when moving around with the casters.  As  long as you move it slowly, things should be alright.

Have lots of FUN. . .

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Stack cutting..???

I tape the stack  together first just to hold them and use the hot glue gun in a couple of spots on all four sides.  Works great for me.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Cutting at higher speeds
« on: January 05, 2013, 10:21:04 pm »
Recently I found I had better control cutting at higher speeds on my Delta 40-695.  Now when I try slowing my speed down a little it's like    pfff  "Slow motion".   Is  there  any long term harm at running your saw at high speed all  the time.   Would it be prone to a shorter life span or experience greater fatigue and wear.
