Over the Garden Wall
« on: October 02, 2011, 06:56:29 pm »
This is from a pattern by Grampa. The portrait was stack cut, Four layers of 1/8" Baltic birch with a backer board of 1/8" oak plywood stained red Mahogany.
450 inside cuts. Cut with Olsen 2/0R and flying Dutchman NS 2/0 blades.
I built the frame from 5/8" Red Oak. The portrait and backer is glued into the frame, then soaked in a 50/50 Mixture of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. I have not applied a top coat yet as the oil is not dry yet, but I will use Deft semi gloss spray lacquer

Dan they are about to go to sleep.  It really looks AWSOME.  How long did it take to cut it?
