Pattern Requests. / Special Delivery / Baby
« on: March 30, 2016, 08:57:11 pm »
Hi
I wonder if someone has an idea for the special delivery pattern.
I need to replace the foot with something else.
I will use the rest of the pattern and also use the hole cutout for a insert.
Any help would be great.
Thanks Jim

Pattern Requests. / Puzzle pattern
« on: September 03, 2013, 10:45:04 pm »
I'm looking for a few puzzle patterns ( just the drawing of the puzzle ) for a 4"x6" and 5"x7" picture like on Steve's page, but with less pieces for my Grandson, He is two years old so 25 pcs would be to many pcs for that age.
Maybe 8 to 12 pcs or so .

Thanks
Jim

General Scroll Saw Talk / Boiled linseed oil
« on: August 20, 2013, 05:17:05 pm »
I made a plywood box to hold a belt sander and painted on boiled linseed oil mix 50/50
I have been waiting at least a week for it to dry and not be sticky.I have used the mix in the past and it worked great.
I left the box out in the sun for two days now and its still sticky on some spots.
Can I put a coat of clear finish on it or do I need to wait till its not sticky.
I think some air got into the mix over time and its not 50/50 any more.
Likely some of the thinners evaporated.

General Scroll Saw Talk / BLO keychain
« on: June 10, 2013, 11:12:59 pm »
I made a key chain and soaked it in BLO for about 10 minutes.
then padded it dry and hung it on a wire to dry for a few days.
How many days do you wait before you can spray it with polyurethane.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Polymer and Sculpey clay
« on: February 12, 2013, 06:21:29 pm »
I've made a key chain with a name on one side and something else on the other side.
I used polymer clay on the one side  and sculpey clay on the other.
My problem is the filmo polymer clay bakes at 230 F for 30 min  and the Sculpey clay bakes at 275 F for 15 Min.
Im ready for baking . but not sure if I will over cook this or if it will cook properly.
Anyone encountered this problem and what temp to cook it at.

How do you go about changing to inches

« on: December 10, 2011, 11:11:13 pm »
Hi all

Steve posted a program for resizing his patterns and also an add on for the program.
Anyone know where I can find it. It was on his page.
I think it was in the fall of this year.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Aleens tacky glue
« on: November 08, 2011, 06:39:02 pm »
I  used a oil stain on my backer board and BLO on my fretwork.
After 24 hrs I sprayed both my backer and both sides of my fretwork with Krylon Acrylic satin spray, Should I use Aleens tacky glue to glue my backer to the fretwork ( will it hold ) or should I use epoxy glue?

Computer questions / Fire fox not keeping me logged in
« on: October 14, 2011, 12:02:57 am »
I started using fire fox a few days ago and when I sign in to the scrollsaw workshop I click ( always stay logged in ) and I backspace the 60 minutes and click ok.
If I go out I have to resign in again, only with Firefox? How do I stay logged in?
Works fine for IE

I wood first finnish useing BLO and spray finnish. hope this makes sense.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Brown paper bag for sanding
« on: June 29, 2011, 11:38:37 pm »
 Dan

I also tried your idea about using a piece of brown paper bag between top coats and it worked great to make it smooth.
It dulled the finish of the satin spray coat so I didn?t use it after the final coat.
Do you use it after the final coat?
