I've been doing a lot of practice on outside cuts so I thought I'd give a pattern with some interior cuts a try. So, I have Momma Bear and Baby Bear a try.
Wow, this is hard work! LOL! But, I'm enjoying it and learning with every twist and turn I do!
I'll probably give this a light stain. It has an oval base (you can see it behind the work piece), but not sure how I'm going to mount it. It seems like it would be difficult to glue, 3,000# clear apoxy?
I'll keep working at it, but if it was easy everybody would be doing it right! :)

Looks very very good, keep up the great progress, look forward to seeing more projects.

Nice cutting. As Shelia said We got ya!!!! But don't sell yourself short. tha is a nice looking piece.

You did a great job making the interior cuts. You could cut a slot for the workpiece to fit into. it would give you something to glue to.
-
Excellent Terry! Keep practicing, It will get easier.
As long as you have a flat surface, it will be easy to glue. Use Aleen's Tacky glue. Apply a thin layer to the bottom of the plaque. Set it in the proper position and press down for a few seconds. If you have any squeeze out, clean it up with a tooth pick. The glue dries clear, but will inhibit the stain, so make sure you remove the squeeze out before it sets. Glue before you stain as glue will not stick properly to stained wood.
Let the glue dry for about thirty minutes, then you can handle it to stain.
You can get Aleen's tacky glue at any craft store including Michael's. Make sure it is the brown bottle.

Nice work! Also to add to dgman, you can get it at Wal-Mart. It's $1.47 where I live.

I've heard nothing but good comments about Aleen's tacky glue, just a shame we can't buy it over here in U.K.

You might be surprised at how strong that will glue to a base. I use Gorilla Glue for wood and it has held every project of mine extremely well.
Your work is very good. I showed my wife and she loved it too. (so it gets the woman's approval) Nice cutting. I tend to like to use a simple Oak stain for projects like yours. What type of blade did you use to cut this project?
Well, very nice and thanks for sharing.
