Hi My Daughter had her first child last night (A Boy) at 11.33pm on the 13/06/2012 and he weighed in at a hefty 9lbs 5 1/2 oz Both are doing well and this is a cross i had prepared for him just to finish when i knew the details ! It is cut from 6.5 mm (1/4" ) birch ply and the backer is the same ! The date is the finest i have ever cut and i can tell you i was sweating a few times lol It is a surprise for them! I hope they like it ? All the best from a proud grandad ;D ;D ;D Pete

All I can think of to say is Oh My Goodness! That is an awesome gift, one to be treasured all his life. You did a fantastic job. It looks like something you would order on line made by a machine. That date is so pristine and perfect. This is truly such a nice project. What kind of wood did you use? Also what size and type of blade did you use. Good work and you truly should be proud. Thanks for sharing.

Once again thanks for your nice comments ! Appreciated
I showed them the back of it which just looks like a big plain cross and told them i was going to burn Connors details into the wood !! they were both smiling in approval and then i turned it round and both their jaws were just about touching the ground in amazement and then my daughter started crying ;D ... What a wonderful moment ...Priceless ! just wish i had a video running , But the memory will live with me forever !
