The Coffee Shop / Re: Steves "Plumber" pattern Jan 20th

I agree with Rog...as a Crescent wrench is a little more of an all-purpose tool,  a pipe wrench is more associated to a plumber.  I do like this series of patterns by Steve.

Yes, it is beautiful. I love the added color in the rose. What type of wood did you use?

Wow! I guess we are having a heat wave. It's supposed to get to +4 tonight. I'm glad I moved the shop to the basement.

Cool stuff.  I like the way you framed the mountain lion.  I assume it's mounted to the board.  I also like the frame with sea gulls.  Nice work.

Try looking at Meisel's or Scroller.com.

Welcome to the site. For small projects I use boxes like shoe boxes and some a little larger. For larger portraits I hang some on my wall and stack others in a large box. The key is to keep them away from small children and clumsy adults.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: New scroll saw magazine

This is the first I heard of this magazine. I agree that the price sounds kind of steep, even in the US ($11.55 for magazine with shipping). One option is the PDF version as a shipping option but it says Canada / UK. What about the US? Can we get the PDF for $7.50? How do I contact the publisher with questions?

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Table Height

I think the ideal height should be where the table is slightly below your elbows. This what you will have less stress on your back and shoulders. The actual height could be different if you are sitting or standing.

The Wooden Teddy Bear and Cherry Tree are the two that come to mind. Both catalogs have lots of patterns as well as accessories.

I have an old magnifying lamp. My eyes are not what they used to be and this works great. The bulb is fluorescent and provides even lighting. They now make them with LED lighting. These can be pricey but you can always find them at yard sales, flea markets, and even on Craigslist. If you don't need the magnifier I'm sure someone else will chime in soon. Good luck.

It's great to hear you complain about the heat and humidity.  :)

Judy, what I supposed to take the socks off my feet before I cut off the toes? Ouch!

Welcome back! This place is not the same without you and your good sense (of humor, that is).
