Title: Wedding cake topper questions.
Post by: Lakelad on April 26, 2018, 07:49:33 pm
I am cutting a wedding cake topper pattern from Steve's patterns. I thought I would do baltic birch but have never painted a baltic birch cutting. Always do lemon oil dip. I need this one to be colored however, any suggestions on how to paint it. Do I need a special paint and primer? Appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

I am no expert at painting but have painted BB many times.

I have used the rattle can with and without primer.  The can will tell you if you need it.

I also have used my wife's craft paint.  I find it easier to seal with a 50 percent solution of sanding sealer.  After this I sand and then use the craft paint.

I also have done ornaments by spraying white and then a coat of spray glitter.
