General Scroll Saw Talk / Lighthouse
« on: January 06, 2015, 05:10:51 am »
Hi all I volunteer at the sallies family store in home town NZ.
The attached pictures show a lamp of square wooden pieces that form the shape of a lighthouse.
It has a small motor on the inside that turns a spoon that is the reflector.
Question is something like this is unique and is probably worth something,   wood anyone like to put some sort of price on it.

Computer questions / Links for Websites
« on: August 24, 2014, 10:05:37 pm »
I will try to explain what I mean hopefully!!!!
When you wish to insert a website address eg: http://stevedgood.com/community/index.php

How do you make it so it's one or two words not 40 plus, like Steve's above you want to make it something like
(Scroll Forum) or (click Here).
Is that clear or is it mud??.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Brass Cutting
« on: May 13, 2014, 06:58:53 am »
Hi guys/gals just had a couple days R/R in the country and stayed at a wonderful cottage.
The upside the owners run a lifestyle block and the husband does woodwork/turning and also makes clocks.
Not the wooden kind. And when he found out I do scroll work was interested in a scroll saw for cutting the brass for the gears.
They wood probably be about a 1/16 inch thick Brass (that's clock brass) which I understand to be harder than ordinary brass.
Wood FD metal blades or jewellery blades  be ok for this type of work.
That is if any one can help me out on this please.

Thanks: ***Merlin***

General Scroll Saw Talk / Clamp Lever that Steve Brought
« on: April 10, 2014, 07:51:01 am »
I have had those clamps for a few years now I have an after market hegner type saw.
And I have only recently figured out why the ends of the blades are "Hockey Sticking" Steve's words not mine.
Adjust the top arm so that the blade is only just past the screw in the clamp that way it does not seem to do the sticking thing.
Even with spiral blades which I all ways have problems with "But no more"

This may not be news to some but thought some might find it something else to try.
