LOL, Keith you are tooooooooooooooo funny.

Surgery went well.  Am on the road to recovery. Never had a surgery as painful as this one.  They cut thru the muscle to get to the hip joint.  Take about some nasty pain......................thank God for painkillers!!!!!

Good to hear that the surgery went well Judy, hope you are no longer in such intense pain, saw my neighbor after her hip operation said if she had known what it was going to be like she would never have had it.  Have a lovely Christmas and Healthy New Year.

Well Judy, I'm sure there was some pain involved but, when I had part of my hip replaced, it felt better right away.  :)
You see, I fell off of a ladder and broke the ball of the joint of my hip off. THAT WAS SOME PAIN!
The surgery was a piece of cake in comparison.  ;)
I was up walking around the next day (with a walker at first) and home walking within the week. That was six years ago this December 8th and I feel great!

And Marge, tell your neighbor "That which does not kill us makes us stronger" She may not realize the trouble she could have had if she let it go too long. Hind sight has a way of making things feel better.

When I spoke to my surgeon after the operation he said my hip was one of the worst he has ever seen.  It was very deteriorated and would only get worse. Very painful just walking. They put in a new ball joint and relined the socket.  The worse pain came from having to cut into the muscle.  I do exercises every day to regain strength in that muscle while it heals  My doctor is really happy with my progress but wants me to stay on the walker for another 2-4 weeks. I can walk without it but am very unsteady.  He doesn't want me falling and re-breaking the hip.  The worst is over.
