Yes the dent or mark is in the top of the blade.  8)

with the UR I use the bend end at the top.
when cutting straight lines the wood has to go on an angle to the left to keep on track.
I have the feeling that when turning it upside down (bend part down) I  don't go to left but to the right.

the problem is that the UR blades are so good that they hardly go of track....

...there is a dent?  :o ::) ;D

serious, hold the blade against your light. You'll find some teeth on one end facing the different direction. that's the bottom end.

OK yes the "dent" is the top for the lower numbered blades but the #7 & #9's have the "dent" on the blade bottoms.
Yes  dgman - the package label tells you. Brian

Brian,
With all the UR blades the marking is the top.

A simple test I use on those without the dent.
Grasp one end and gently pull it between thumb and forefinger of your other hand, if it slides pretty easy switch ends, one direction will GRAB your skin much more than the other and should be installed with them pointing down. Works for me!
Or break out your magnifying glass!  LOL

I do it just like Gabby does, especially on spiral blades. Just run your finger down the blade lightly and you can feel which way the teeth are pointing.

I just run my fingers over the end and feel for the dent. The dent is one of the features that make the FD blades top-notch. Hey, maybe it's not a dent at the top, but a notch. :D

Some don't have the dent, hence the test!

Thank goodness all the New Ultra Reverse blades Mike sent me have the dent at the top

To my fat little over worked and worn out fingers with these blades its very hard to feel the difference between up or down... (although I can see the 2 down and 1 up using the magnifier glass)

I do wish I had delicate and sensitive fingers like Gabby  :-*
