General Scroll Saw Talk / Layed Patterns
« on: June 11, 2019, 08:03:57 am »
Hi Guys:

I don't know about you but I find layer patterned projects boring.  I agree they result in a great 3-dimensional effect but other than repetitive cutting, they require a significant amount of wood.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Scrollnado
« on: January 21, 2019, 07:37:53 am »
Does anyone know how to contact the manufacturer "Chris"??? of the Scrollnado?  I had a blade break and it destroyed the lower tube which I need to replace (hopefully without paying for an entire new set). Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Ask Steve a question. / Scrollnado probblems

Steve...just installed the Scrollnado.  The bottom tube is being hit by the top of the bottom blade clamp.  The tube is tight to the bottom of the table which prevents it from being high enough to miss the clamp at the clamp's peak up-stroke.  This causes a pretty loud noise as well as vibration in the table.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Today I installed a Scrollnado on my DW788 and have a noise from the bottom tube.  The top of the bottom blade clamp is hitting the bottom tube on its upstroke.  The tube is tight to the bottom surface of the cast iron top.  There just is not enough room for the tube to prevent the blade clamp from hitting it.  Anyone else have this problem with the Scrollnado?  It really makes a lot of noise.

Ask Steve a question. / Cutting Baltic Birch
« on: November 14, 2018, 07:29:34 am »
Steve: RE: your post today...Woodcrafters will cut their 5'x5' sheets of Baltic Birch down to size for free.  I have them cut a sheet into 16"x 30" size that I can then easily use on the DW788.

Do you know if/when Pegas is going to make the Clamps specifically for the DW788?

Steve, thanks for your report and video on the Scrollnado.  For of us who do not have a central dust collection system, do you know if the Scrollnado will work with a shop vac.  What CFM would be required to adequately make it effective, adaptors. etc.?  This would be a great economical solution for many of us scrollers who would greatly benefit from such a system.

When I submit a pattern to Rapid Resizer the following message appears..."I can't get the full size pattern. Please...".

What to do?

General Scroll Saw Talk / DW 788 Vibration
« on: June 06, 2016, 07:42:13 am »
I have a question re: the DW 788.  I purchased mine 2 years ago and it has performed perfectly with rather heavy use.  It now has developed a vibration which is seems to be up-and-down and is evident on the cast iron table. The vibration requires constant pressure on the work to hold it tight to the table.

Does this mean the arm bearings are beginning to wear?

Hello...I'm a long time user of this site but new to the Forum. Has anyone else experiencing problems with the Resizer?  It has stopped working for me.
