Title: Clear Epoxy Kits
Post by: sp_343 on June 17, 2010, 05:41:30 pm
So...has anyone ever tried one of those 2-part clear epoxy kits...that gives table and/or bar tops a crystal clear finish?  I was checking out different internet sites and saw that they are also used on different craft items and clocks...I would like to give it a try...any pros or cons to those who have used them in the past???

Also, would you need to strip off old finish before applying this...or can you just pour it on top of a surface if it is in good shape??

Thanks!

I have used them on a few projects where I needed the extra surface protection, table tops, lazy susan.  I have never used them on real small projects. As far as surfaces go, needs to be clean, free of Olly type products. Sand surface to rough it up to make a good bond. Should work well. On a table top you will have to make a dam around the edges to keep it from running off until it sets.
