I made this oak coin bank using 3/8" thick oak. Just a little scroll saw work in it. I used a spray on poly, from a rattle can, for the finish.Quick and easy project.

Thanks for the kind words. I saw this design on another forum and patterned this bank after that. It is 9" tall x 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". Dimensions are dependant on the door size.

excellent and beautiful job, great look and finish.

So far I have sold two of them. Two more left. Lots of people admire them but few feel the need to buy a coin bank anymore.

Yes, too bad there are many that miss out on the value of saving.
I have a similar issue selling bookends...kind of a passing need. Sigh.
Still a great looking piece of work, Jim.
What I want to know is where from did you "steal" the post office box door? ;)

The post office offered old PO Box fronts for sale to postal employees and the general public, years ago. I got mine from the widow of a postal worker. I see there are plenty of them offered on e-bay.
