Hi!  You've learned lesson #1, now you can move on.  Most of us are self-taught and you simply keep improving the more you cut.  Learning a few tips helps, but time on the saw is what will make you better.

Welcome aboard. Yes it takes some practice but scrap wood is inexpensive and its fun to scroll. Some scroll for profit me I just do it to relax

you are absolutely spot on, the video make it look so straight forward, makes it better if you get the machine you need, I got a 'Sealey' but it wont take the fine US Blades which I think would make life much easier.  Trying to 'make' a holder for the US blades but it is a slow process.  As others advise, keep trying.     Norman in NI
