Pattern Requests. / Practice pattern
« on: August 17, 2010, 07:24:20 pm »
A group of us scrollers are going to work with some special ed students next month and I need a practice pattern.  I have one with a straight line, several curve lines, several 90 degree corners, etc.  But I have seen one, somewhere, that has a straight line for about the length and then gradually goes into some slight curves.  I really like this approach to teaching someone new.  Any help would be appreciated.

There is a brand new scroll saw group in Houston, TX.  It meets the fourth Sat of the month at the Woodcraft store on Beltway 8.  (Sometimes off site for special demos).  We start at 9:30 AM and would love to see you there.  We are a "splinter group" of the Woodworkers Club of Houston.  Contact me directly if you need directions or more info.

Introduce Yourself. / Hi from Sugar Land, TX
« on: April 19, 2010, 10:45:49 pm »
Hi Folks and greetings from southeast Tx, aka Houston.  I have been scrolling for seven years now and just love it to the point that my wife says if it doesn't involve my woodworking, I don't pay any attention to it.  To a point she is correct, but I have to build up my inventory for my fall craft shows.  Anyway, I'm glad to be here and look forword to see folks from around the world are doing.

You can see some of my work at my website:  www.normsscrollsawart.com
