Title: Giant Red Kite Intarsia finished
Post by: Claymore on July 01, 2016, 10:40:24 am
Hi guys/gals
I have just finished a project for the Galloway Red Kite Centre  near my home and as you might guess its another Red Kite but this time much bigger!
Its approx 7ft x 4ft x 2" and made from solid Oak/Walnut/Beech/Sycamore and the same design as my smaller one. They actually bought the small one (36" wide) and the owners daughter saw it and wanted it for her home which is approx 1 mile from own  :D so they asked me to make them a bigger version for their wall in the tourist centre and here it is.
It weighs around 30kgs  finished with Chestnut Wax.
Hope ya like it

Brian
Ps next project is another BMW motorcycle R1200GSA for a customer in Ireland and then I have loads of smaller wildlife ones to make for the Red Kite visitor centre shop which will be fun.

Cheers!  I'm glad its finished as I have quite a few more orders to fill some of them are quite odd too...... one is a Mountain Bike (bicycle) and another is a racing Go Cart both for the same guy and should be tricky but I like a challenge.
Have fun
Brian
