Bush Fires
« on: February 11, 2014, 01:22:45 am »
We are in the middle of bush fire season and boy do we have some fires.  I woke at 2.00am to find my bedroom full of smoke and there is not a fire within 50 kilometres of here.  We are getting the smoke from 3 fronts.  One is an open cut coal mine on fire and that could smoke for weeks.  Being outside is like being in a light fog, its awful, but better this than being in the middle of a fire.  I feel for those that have lost their homes.  My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

I really FEEL for you and all that live there.  Are the fires common each year?
Like the people living in parts of California.  Fires ARE common most years.
I PRAY that YOU and All Family and Friends are Spared of this Awful Happening.  :+}

You make sure you stay safe Marg, and try not to breathe too much of the smoke.

Good luck, and desperately hope you don't suffer from a respiratory ailment. Cheers, Barry.

The backs a lot better now Roy but thank Marg for the offer.   :D :D :D :D But I can take care of them myself.  ;) Someone lit a fire between the railway lines and a Primary school yesterday just down the road.  What extra special parasites they are to do that.  Lucky the firemen were not busy with another fire.  When we get extremely hot days we have Total Fire Bans were you are not allowed to light a fire in the open, this seems to be an open invitation for fire bugs.  You also get idiots throwing lit cigarettes out of car windows so of course that courses more fires.  New Zealand have sent over some of their firefighters to help ours.  I have to mention also that most of the men and women fighting these fires are volunteers the only paid firemen are in big towns and cities.  These volunteers have normal paid jobs and when there is a fire they get paged and have to go like a bat out of hell to get to the station.  They are real hero's.

Hi Marg, glad to hear your back is sorted, but I'm not so glad to hear about the fires. Sounds like you have the same idiots we have here. If they had twice the brains they would still be HALF WITS!!!!!. Wish we could send you some of this, no!!! ALL, of this rain we're having, to put a dampener on these fires. Stay safe Marg. :-* :-*
