My homemade router table/cabinet

I built this router table back in 1998.  The frame is all solid oak with mortise and tenon joinery.  The cabinet part is 3/4" birch plywood.  It has a hinged top for easy access to the router, 2 vertical draws for bit storeage and one large drawer on the bottom for other storage.

GB...I wish.  I would like to open my own shop, but I would need over $100k just for the tools.  I dont have enough training to start my own business.  I have a pretty decent collection of tools now, but they arent professional grade tools.  The only major tool I dont have is a lathe.  I make a lot of my own jigs and templates.

is there a vacuum cleaner/dust collector attachment integrated ? How do you deal with the router inside and the dust?

The fence isnt on the table in the photo.  There is a hose that goes from the fence into the cabinet and then another house hooks up to the cabinet.  In the front below the large door in the middle there is a 1/8" gap that draws air in, and inside there is a divider that has another small air gap.  It works pretty good to get most of the dust.  It works on the venturi principle and keeps the dust out of the router as well.  The router actually plugs in to a receptacle inside and then the table has its own plug and  you turn it on by a switch on the front.

Tux that is the book.  I bought it back in 97 or 98.  I have used it so much the binding is busted and almost falling apart.  It has all kinds of really neat ideas in there.
