uploading files-Toy tool box

Hi

I'm trying to upload the toy tool box plans and pictures but I keep getting messages that my files are to big.

How do I reduce the size of the file?

Try irfanview....

To re-size your pics if needed there is an awesome freebie out there called irfanview.  Easy and free.  I've used it for years.  irfanview

If you have Microsoft Office installed, right click the file and select "Open with... Microsoft Office". Then under the Picture menu, select "Compress" and set to Web and save it. That will usually get it small enough to upload.

Another way is to upload the picture to some Internet site then link to it in your posting using the Picture button up top. I use Picassa to upload. If you do that, you don't have to compress it first since Steve's site doesn't load it, just displays it using the link.

I'm now trying to get the pdf file uploaded.  I'm too technically challenged.

I couldn't get the PDF file uploaded so this is a scanned copy.  

The measurements may not be exact so you may have to do some adjusting.  I simply had an idea as to what I wanted and went from there.  I really didn't have exact measurements except for the length and width of my boards.  The bottom will be a tad shorter than the sides.  You'll need to subtract the thickness of the sides and ends so it fits inside.  I used dowels to help support the sides to the ends and bottom.

I think it turned out rather decent for not having a plan.  It makes my engineering friends crazy because I don't have written plans.  Anyway, have fun and post pictures of yours.

Looks like a set of plans to me!  They don't need to be blueprints, or printed in a magazine to be good plans - I have used many plans just like those.

Nice looking job, and thanks for sharing with the group.  And you learned something along the way  .

It was a fun little project.  My nephew enjoys carrying his toy tools in it.  Now we need to come up with some more tools to fill it with.

I never thought about making it for little girls but that's a good idea.  I could paint some flowers or butterflies on it.  I may make a few for the toy drive at our woodworking club.  Thanks for the idea.
