hey there Pat !!  ;D  nice to see that you made it over to this site. you will find all kinds of valuable information and very helpful people around here. there are also some AMAZING pattern makers among these folk ~~because of where I live up north it's hard to get things even shipped in any kind of timely manner so I have Olson blades available to me at a local store which I buy. i'm usually get the 20 TPI, 18 TPI and 15 TPI unfortunately I don't have access to any skip tooth blades or anything like that..just a plain normal ol blade. also the blades I use are pin ended. so that changes the game a bit from pinless.....

yes that is the look I am going for :) just didnt' want to actually post anything because the first time I tried to request this the thread was taken down right away. I figured it was because I asked for a modification or something along those lines. so I figured I would just go the round about way ....lol

I def will post a pic of the finished product. buy have one more request of this couple. my wife just doesn't like how her grandfather is turning out with very little details compared to her grandmother. so she is trying to find yet another picture that she can crop in there instead of the one already posted. right about now is when I would say she is just being her typical picky self. but with the situation at hand I suppose she does have the right to be lol....so just a forwarning that there might be one more pic coming down the pipes if you guys don't mind?

wow...both of these look GREAT!!! thanks guys.....EIEIO, my plan was going to be to have on the inside edge of the blade just like tdub4ever made for me. then I was also planning to cut out the space between each letter instead of just the letter it self. (make sense?_) the size is great!

hello there, a fellow woodworkers wife just came to me a week or so ago and asked if I could make her a gift to give to her hubby for xmas....she asked if I could make a wooden saw blade with the word "WOODWORKING" rounded at the top of the blade and words "BY WAYNE" rounded at the bottom of the blade.  any of you guys have any ideas? I can picture it in my head exactly how it should look but unfortunately I do not know how to use any kind of editing programs or anything like that so I am very limited to what I can make for her...if you guys can possibly help me out it would be awesome ...

thanks

I thought I would surprise my wife with a after picture of her grandfather who was in the war who just passed away a few months ago. I would love to give the family a picture of him in his war uniform (which I really appreciate everyones efforts to make up for me) but I also thought that a picture of him and his wifes 60th anniversary would also be a GREAT addition as well. after all 60 years of marriage is not heard of to often these days. him and his wife met in the war, she was a nurse . once they met they never left eachothers side! their story is amazing one of love and commitment. of course many people met and married because of the war and this is just another one of those amazing stories with only the pictures left to tell the tales...

thank you ahead of time for taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate it everyone :)

attached is a picture of my wifes grandfather who just recently passed away of a stroke. he was a honored veteran with our Canadian airforce.

I would like to request a pattern of this picture if possible if someone could help me out. I would like to make 4 of them .  for my wife, her sister, their mother, and aunt

if this picture cannot be done I will try to get a couple other pictures that can try to be used....

a friend of mine asked if I could make her a wall piece for her 2 year old grandson.. she asked if I can make a picture of a Tonka truck (or something like that )and incorporate his name into it...
I was thinking that the character "chuck the truck" would be an awesome picture for a 2 year old...

his name is Jack

anyone have any patterns available or can help me out with one and help me put his name into it?

thanks everyone

is that how all the pinless scroll saws are? have multiple clamps for different size blades?

Notice that the gap between them is different, the the narrower the gap the thinner the blade.
The bottom one is for a size 5 blade and the top one is for 00 to 3 size (FD blades)
Hope that helps..........

well that makes sense now .. he gave me a couple extra clamps. and that's what we thought they were , were just a couple extras...man I feel like a complete dumbass with this machine lol...i'll have to check them out and see if the smaller sized clamps will fit the blades I have

Have you contacted the manufacturer? http://www.maoshan.com/product1.aspx?cid=3&id=34. You may be able to get a user manual.

The clamp photos looks more like the Allen screw is to lock the piece to a round shaft rather than to hold a blade. Maybe a part is missing?

I have the manual that came with it but it seems more of a assembly manual then anything...looks like those alan keys are indeed suppose to tighten the clamps..the arm on the saw has a kind of groove that the clamps sit in then the tensioinar tightens and the clamps get tightened by that

Those clamps look like they are very similar to the Hegner scroll saw ones.
If I'm not mistaken the one in the photo is for the #7 and above blades for the smaller blades you wood need one for the #3 and below and one for the #5 to 7 blades.
I have a Hegner look-a-like saw and as I'm out for the rest of the day will post a photo of the blade clamps later.

are you saying that there are different clamps for different size blades?????/// o jeez...man you would need to have 4 or 5 different clamps that don't get lost..owweeee ...this might be a bit more difficult then I thought :(
