General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Which is better?

On the same line.  I just got my delta yesterday, it's twice the size of the cheap $100 saw I was using.  One question I have is how do you install the blower hose without breaking anything.

General Scroll Saw Talk / Table Height
« on: December 20, 2015, 08:10:14 pm »
My wife surprised with with an early Christmas gift.  A Delta 40-694 scroll saw.  Now due to a mild heart attack on the 4th of this month I can't put it together(weight restrictions) until my brother in law arrives for Christmas.  But here is the reason for the post.  I need to build a stand for the saw before he arrives.  I have seen posts here talking of table height and angle of the table but I can't locate them.  Can anybody give me a hand on these and much thanks in advance.

Welcome to the board.  I myself have a cheesy 130 saw and I seem to do alright.  First off get on youtube and look for videos that teach this art.  If it had not been for youtube I would have given up already and now I cant stop once I get going.  It's kind of like playing golf for me.  But last year and this year I made ornaments for my grandkids and the extra's my wife took to work and gave away at a retirement home.  So this year in the spring I bought some patterns from Sheila Landry and between hers and some others I did, the wife took about 50 ornaments into work to hand out to the residents, made her feel good so I felt good.  But keep banging away at it and ask for help

Super nice work, I like the subtle color change between the pine and oak.

I listen to music sometimes and talk radio others, depends on the day.  But I have found myself at times scrolling to the beat or speed of the song on the radio, that's when I have to turn it down, bound to screw up something if I don't.

Sorry I haven't thanked everyone for the nice comments.  My hard drive crashed and I just got my computer going again. I swear these things are a cruel joke on mankind.

I just got done building a sewing box for my wife, she found a humming bird pattern of Steve's and wanted it for the lids.  Now I really need to find a lot of time as she saw several other patterns she would like to have done.

Here is a sewing box I made for the wife.  A few errors and a lot learned.  The lids are a pattern from Mr. Steve Good, used for this need thank you sir.  My wife likes it even with the errors(they bother me) but again a lot learned.

We have DSL from the local phone company.  Cable is not offered where I live and we had serious trouble with Dish and Direct TV.  Sp now we have an antenna and get the local channels.  Through the DSL line we also have Netflix which allows us to for the most part watch movies and other TV channels.  104 dollars a month for both, DSL and phone service.  The internet is slow sometimes but then again so am I.

Computer questions / 32 bit or 64 bit
« on: March 03, 2015, 06:27:01 am »
I should probably know this but how does a person find out if they have a 32 bit or 64 bit setup on a computer.  I am wanting to add Inkscape and would like to get things correct the first time.  Thanks in advance for any help.
