First Christmas Ornaments
« on: July 06, 2013, 11:38:11 pm »
Earlier today I took a break from my studies and taped 5 BB boards together. I set up 5 Ornament Patterns to be cut. This is my first one cut out. I will carefully sand the delicate wood tomorrow or the next day. I might paint these, but probably will just let them remain the natural color. If I don't paint them I will just use some oil to preserve them.

Only got 4 of the 5, the bottom most board had a snap on the star when I was cutting it. Oh well, I figure it cost 27 cents each to make 5. So still a good job for 34 cents each for 4.

Nice work there Troy, you can never start too early for Christmas, it always seems to come up on you too fast.

Those look great Troy.  It's good to get started on Christmas things as it takes us a while to get them made.   Thanks for sharing them with us.

Nice work Troy, I don't know how you can be thinking about Christmas..... It's 90 degrees and humid at my house.  :)

Nice cutting. Have you considered adding some color? The Mother Goose cuttings in the scroll saw magazine really look great with a light wash.

It was about 105 with 38 percent humidity when I went out to do these. I have been working on my state licence exam studies for selling Life Insurance. I needed a big mental break. So I put up with the heat to make these. Took about 30 to 40 minutes.
