Question about a pattern

I just received the new pattern from Steve Good in my email (an eagle - God Bless America). I'd like to try making it but I don't have much experience in round patterns. What's the best way to make it round or is there somewhere I can buy a piece of wood that is already round?
This may sound like a silly question but like I said, I've never made anything that was completely round.

Steve has videos about cutting techniques. Slow down your saw and take your time. Practice practice practice.

that pattern is uses to pieces of wood 1/2" backer board and 1/4" for the eagle and you cut out the white areas of the eagle then glue them together.

To get a good round shape:

cut outside of the line. Cut slow, but not too slow.
After that you should have a 180 grid sand paper glued on a board. That is in general a fine thing for fine cuttings, but here it comes best: Pull the edge of the piece across that sand paper and sand off the little bumps. Works great, you'll easily get a feeling for it and have much better round shapes.
