Tlingit Wolf Totem
« on: June 08, 2012, 03:58:09 am »
Second try at posting this. I have finally finished except for the oil bath, I stained the wolf using diluted acrylic black paint I was trying to get a charcoal gray look and I think I came pretty close, and I like that the grain shows through the backer is left natural this is all done on 1/4" BB plywood.
Thanks again MM.
I plan to post a bio of the artist later in the gallery Laurie bought the pattern to make into a quilt square but ran into problems and scrapped that idea, she's a bit bummed since she liked the pattern as did I, and it looks like I'll be the only one using it.
Ol' Gabby is making sawdust again, Yeeee Hawwwww
Enjoy!

Very nicely done!  I really like that.  Thanks for sharing it with us.
Good idea about using the watered down paint as a stain.

very nice work there, love the finished piece. Glad to see you got back in the driving seat behind the saw, and from the look of this you ain't lost your touch.
