« on: December 01, 2018, 11:31:34 am »
Any idea where I could find a pattern for subject PU? Would be glad to pay someone for the pattern. 1st choice would be a model but a flat picture would do also.
Thanks: jpugh01@gmail.com

Pattern Requests. / 1946 International Pickup

My buddy is retiring and going to rebuild this 1946 and I would love to give him a model to put on the dashboard for a retirement gift. Would love to do a 3d model but would settle for a plaque if the model isn't available. Thanks for your time...

I'm in the market for a new saw and would like to know what is your favourite saw and why. I know you have all the new models in your shop and you move around some but one of them must be your go-to saw and I'd like to do some in-depth research on that model..Thanks, Jim

Love the new enlarged patterns you have been posting lately. Sorry for using this page to contact you but the "Ask me a question" button on the http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/ doesn't work on my PC. Anyhow, glad you are back to shop time and, keep the patterns coming

Ask Steve a question. / Skull and bones
« on: October 24, 2015, 03:52:04 pm »
I searched every category I could think of for a pattern I saw last year of a small ornament sized skull and bones but couldn't find it? Is it possible to request a search here? The one I'm looking for has a ring to hang it and is about 3.5 in dia. Thanks, Jim

Ask Steve a question. / Book2 (Vase)
« on: July 01, 2015, 04:03:41 pm »
Steve, I think I screwed up. I was in alaska for 3 weeks and just got home to view my unread mail and saw an ad for book 2 with some discussion about it so I ordered it through pay pal. When I viewed the title in the download it mentioned 8 vases and I think I read there were 12 in book2??? As you can see I didn't open the order download yet so is there a way you can change the download to book 2 if I have received book 1 ??
Thanks: Jim In NM

General Scroll Saw Talk / Hawk vs. others
« on: November 01, 2013, 09:50:18 pm »
Anybody out there have something to say about the Hawk brand?? I'm interested in a comparison to the Excalibur or Dewalt if that info is available from some users? Just saw a video today and from that little bit/bite it was impressive. I have an Excalibur I bought used that appears hardly used but I'm just not happy with it and am looking around for something different. I just started scrolling about 10 months ago and love it. Anyhow, thanks in advance for your time and info....Jim

Tutorials, Techniques and Tips / Excaliber question
« on: September 02, 2012, 07:24:45 pm »
I bought a used 30" that looked almost new and I have made 8 projects with it. It seems to cut/wonder from side to side and cut thick (3/4) hardwood at an angle. I am new to all this but think the blade tension is correct and for sure the blade is square with the table. When looking at the blade just running with no cutting it appears to wobble. I saw on one of the posts that you could turn/rotate the motor a bit and this would eliminate the wobble. My saw is an original Canada model and the motor doesn't rotate.
The question is how do you know if the saw needs a professional tune-up and who would do it? I have nothing to compare this saw with so don't know what it needs if anything. I just think a saw brand of this quality would do a much better job even with a newby at the wheel.
Plain and simple, I'm just lost and don't know what to do or try and will appreciate any guidance. I really like woodworking and scroll sawing but the frustration level is a bit high right now.
Thanks: Jim
