I use a cheap (2/$5) mask every time I turn on the saw but lately I have been scrolling more than usual and don't know if it's a summer cold of sorts or the saw, for about 5 days my throat and chest have been congested, doesn't feel like a cold - anyone else ever have this problem? Maybe a better mask??

The Coffee Shop / liquor, liqueur - just plain yummy
« on: August 10, 2010, 03:40:28 pm »
Help, I was given a gift from some recent German guests of a long skinny bottle containing a clear liquid what I thought was wine. some time after they left we decided to open the "wine".  Pheweeeee, it ain't wine.  Maybe someone here can help tell me what it is.  The bottle label says "HEIDENER TEUFELS-TROPFEN"
below this it says," Williams Christ Birne Mit Weizenkorn" my friends are from Heiden, Germany and it tastes like a vodka or shnapps, there are also two pears on the label, so maybe Pear shnapps? It has a very nice ahhhh "kick" to it.
Please help cuz I really like to know what I'm gettin' looped on.

I enlarged a pattern to 130%, anyone do enough of these to know how to decide what angle to tilt the blade, the original was a 4 1/2" oval now it's about 8 1/4" I know I could use a piece of scrap but as you all well know there is no such thing as "scrap wood" at least not in my hovel of a shop

General Scroll Saw Talk / where do you find thin wood?
« on: June 18, 2010, 12:40:05 am »
I'm still new at this and will be for a year or so I suspect, where do you find the thin  wood?  I see you can buy it on e-bay but isn't there a place like home depot to get it??  It's kinda tough making it on my table saw...

General Scroll Saw Talk / blades?blades? or no matter blades??
« on: May 21, 2010, 09:21:39 pm »
i think I am  being overly concerned but wouldn't it be helpful if blade sizes were mentioned more often, i tried using the spirals, not always so good, why would anyone use anything BUT reverse tooth because of rip-out? i sometimes feel like i'm on training wheels here :-)
