The Coffee Shop / Pig vs car
« on: March 27, 2012, 12:01:09 am »
I retired from driving truck after 30 yrs. and I'm sorry to say I have numerous rabbits, raccoons many other small animals and birds and 7 deer that I have ahhhhh...met up with. However none of them can compare to the story I am about to tell you.

I'd always leave for my 1 hr. drive to work at about 3AM.  This morning was no different than any other until about half way to work something white ran out in front of me, thump - thump! I stopped, ran back to what I had hit and just as I got there I saw it was a pig, as I got closer it got up and ran away. I was obviously very surprised but went back to my car and continued on to work.  I put in my usual 10 hr. day and went home.  As I got to my house I noticed a police car parked in front, I pulled into my driveway and got out of my car.  As soon as I stepped out of my car the policeman came over and arrested me for hit and run and leaving the scene of an accident.  Can you believe it....

Pattern Requests. / honor guard @ funeral
« on: January 21, 2012, 02:37:26 pm »
I was in the honor guard today for a 100 yr. old soldier from our Am. Legion post.  After we policed the brass it was given to the family.  Has anyone ever done or seen a pattern to display the shells? I think it would be a great way to remember our soldiers/family members.

General Scroll Saw Talk / belt/disc sander purchase
« on: January 12, 2012, 09:44:36 pm »
I'm planning to buy a belt/disc sander soon, any suggestions?  OK now with a limit of $100 - $200. I'd really like a bench top to save money and a disc of over 6". I've looked a bit and haven't heard good reviews of Harbor Freight or the ones Woodcraft offer but am open to suggestions.

Thanks Pete

Just wondering how many of you sign your projects, with a stamp or other form of ID. I've thought of it but haven't come up with a way I liked.  Pete

« on: October 17, 2011, 11:26:15 pm »
I just spent two days putting in an "easy to install" screen door, think I'll spend tomorrow scrolling to relieve the stress...at least the door does look good and the cold beer for reward was nice too.

I have 3 daughters and when each went off to college I gave them a coffee mug that said, "You'll find many intelligent guys with stupid women but you'll rarely find an intelligent woman with a stupid guy.  It's worked so far!!!

Listen...she's singing "You are my - "HERO"... well not a real hero but it will do for now ;D  Don't tell my wife, that would be proof to her that I do spend too much time on this thing.
