So I have made over 100 bookmarks, put the blo/ms (50/50) on them, wiped them down, let them air for 2 days and they still leave a bit of an oil mark on the book page. Will this ever dry?? What have you done?

Maybe seal them with a lacquer or shellac. I usually do that when I use Lemon Oil on projects to seal the oily residue.

Pete I would suggest a light coat of matte finish spray lacquer...
I use that combination very often and after a 24 hour drying time I just lightly give things a light spray of either Deft or Minwax matte spray lacquer..

I think that you put the BLO on a little thick. It will dry or cure eventually but if you just wipe on a thin coat and then wipe it off it really pops the grain and wasn't meant to be a finish.
I too would put a coat of shellac or poly or lacquer on it for a final finish. I know that BLO dries and cures because it does it on the top of my can when I get sloppy with it all the time.

Wipe it down with some more mineral spirits, that should enhance the drying time. Then clear coat it.

Thanks all, I went with the matte finish, put it in a book after it dried and will see how it looks in the morning.
