Toy plans at Lee Valley
« on: January 28, 2015, 12:38:02 pm »
Lee Valley is offering a book of plans for toys http://www.leevalley.com/en/gifts/page.aspx?p=72644&cat=54&ap=1 that looks interesting.  The title is Zany Wooden Toys that Whiz, Spin, Pop and Fly.  These could be good for children/grand children and could also sell at fairs.  (I don't know if the designs are copyrighted.)

The designs are copyrighted but I have that book and you can make and sell the projects just not the designs.

If you want a really neat and easy top - that can spin by fingers but better by string - you can use a factory made wooden wheel with a dowel through it. With a string pull they will spin for a crazy length of time, and bounce when they touch something. Lots of fun. Steve has a section on toys in his catalog - might be worth a look.
