So who is going to the Woodworking Show at the Fairgrounds this weekend?  I plan to be there saturday.  Last year I caught up with Russ & BBB at the show.

The Coffee Shop / What a pleasure!
« on: March 20, 2014, 09:11:21 pm »
Tomorrow afternoon I will get the chance to meet both Russ and Triple B at the Woodworking Show in Tampa.  Russ was kind enough to message me and invite the hook up since we both live in the Tampa Bay area, just at opposite sides of the region.  How exciting!  I get to go to the wood show again, and I get to shake hands with those two. ;D

This is remarkable to me.  Even though it isn't scrolling, I would think most would find it inspirational.  This young man shows talent.

Swap Shop / RBI for sale in St Pete, FL
« on: June 08, 2013, 07:59:23 pm »
http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/tls/3811584183.html

I saw this listing today in CL for a 16 inch RBI Hawk in St Pete.  I love my RBI 26 inch and sold a 16 inch myself a year ago for $100 more than this person is asking.

I don't know the individual, or have anything to do with the sale, but it should be a good deal for anyone looking for a great saw.

General Scroll Saw Talk / How to save $ on new tools
« on: April 08, 2013, 10:57:45 am »
Since I do all types of woodworking, I also subscribe to Lumberjocks.com.  I had heard there about a way of saving $ that I used yesterday to my advantage.   It was time to replace my old, noisy air compressor with a new one.  I shopped online at both Lowes and Home Depot to find comperable units and settled on a 60 gallon, 230 volt unit.  When I went to the stores I took along a coupon printed from Harbor Freight offering 20% off any single item.  I asked at each store and Home Depot agreed to match the offer.  That saved me abouut $90 off the  cost of a $458 tool, just for asking.  Individual stores may or may not comply, so ask for a manager and show the coupon which is readily available online..

I mentioned in another post that I was having gall bladder surgery today.  It's out and I am home.  Sore but successful.  Thanks for the good wishes that were posted.

The Coffee Shop / Woodworking show Tampa
« on: March 12, 2013, 11:00:44 am »
This friday the Woodworking show opens in Tampa.  I go every year and I always get excited about it.  No telling what I will find that I "can't live without" this year!  Peachtree always has a huge display, as does Woodline, Carter band saw products and many others. For me it's like being a kid in a toy store.   Anybody else in the area going?

Pattern Requests. / reindeer from another post
« on: February 08, 2013, 11:13:08 am »
I can do a lot of things, but drawing is not one of them.  Would one of you pattern makers please look at the "pooping reindeer" post in the General category and bless us all with a pattern similar to what is depicted there?  I am sure I would not be the only one who would appreciate it.
