Hummingbird II
« on: January 01, 2013, 05:04:49 pm »
Made another Hummingbird, It's a Judy Gale Roberts Pattern. Woods used: Lacewood, Aspen, Walnut, Maple, Poplar, Purple Heart, Yellow Heart, Cherry, Red Cedar, Butternut and Wenge.

Finished with 5 coats of Deft Semi Gloss Lacquer. Gave it to my sister as a Christmas Present.

That is absolutely beautiful. My wife walked by while I was looking at it, she says "make me one".
I said "maybe in a few years dear".......

Another awesome job Bob, I like it even more than the first one. I like the dark frame and love the wood you're using for the body and wings.

Wow Bob, that is awesome, some day I may get the courage to try Intarsia. I don't know if these 81 year old hands with arthritis would be steady enough to complete a job.
