Hi from West coast of Sweden
« on: September 12, 2010, 01:49:16 pm »
Hi there all forum members

My name is Kristian ?ng and I live on the south westcoast of Sweden
And I?m new to the scroll sawing
I recently purchased an used Hegner saw
and have tried out one of the masters (Steve Good) pattern.
It?s two cats on the top corner on the door.

I?m also a guitar luthier

I?m looking forward to get lots of help if I need some.  ;)

To start with I could use some help on what kind of books I scould buy

Hope you don?t mind having a newbee Swede here  :)

Best Regards
Kristian

Hi Kristian.  I've never bought any scroll saw books.  All I've learned, I've learned from these good people on the forum.

Of course, maybe that's my problem.   :P ;D

Welcome Kristian.  Your English is just fine.  There are many excellent books available but you can do this without them.  Glad to have you here.

Hey Kristian, Welcome from the west cost of the USA.
There are many books available but I don't know what is available to you in Sweden.
Scroll Saw Workbook by John A. Nelson is a good one to start with.
Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions!

Hej Kristian,

v?lkomna ut Holland.
For me Sweden is "the place" if I think of woodworking.
I saw a lot of craftsmanship in your country due to woodworking.

so good to have you around.

A big and hearty welcome from Missouri in the middle of the USA...

No need to apologize for your English...very few of us in the USA are multilingual so you are way ahead of most of us! Your greatest problem may be in understanding some of our 'slang terms' so if you don't understand just ask.

My first suggestion for books would be to just browse in your local library.

But, almost any question may have the friendly folks here will be happy to answer and PLEASE do not be bashful about asking.

We would also very much like to see some examples of your work as a luthier!

I never really wanted to grow up....All I wanted was to be able to reach the cookie jar...and play with my DW 788
