Great job....That looks really neat....I also would like to know what kind of wood that is that you used for the wolf and for the base...

Thanks Charlie..It is just basic 1/2 inch pine. The golden oak stain I use makes the pine just pop with color, each piece a different hue..Jon

Nice work Jon.  It is funny how sometimes pine will look great stained (like yours) and other times it just comes out sort of blotchy.  Thank you for sharing your work.

Barry,
If you coat the pine with a coat of #1 lb shellac before you stain, it will not blotch as bad.
I use Zinsser clear or Sealcoat and cut it 50/50 with denatured alcohol and brush it on. It dries fast, and then lightly sand the item before staining and the pine (and alot of other soft woods) will not blotch. Then you can finish it with polyurethane or anything (even more shellac) for a final finish.

I would enjoy that pattern as well please.  You already have my e-mail Jon.

Looks like it would make a great stand up puzzle.

That is a wonderful piece, can you add my name to the list for a copy of the pattern? I like the way it all comes together.  Thanks
