Great job! You have already become a "scroller of art"! I use lemon oil and spray shellac because I love natural finish of wood.

Very nice for the first,---- very nice for the 100th.I burned my 1st cutting ,it was safer that way.Now I just hide them form eye sight.

Thanks for all the comments. To let you know how the finish turned out:
I dunked it into Mineral Oil and blow dried it. Then I added some varnish.

It is quite hard to make a good picture of the result but it comes close to the real look.

I find it amazing at the first projects I am seeing these days, and this one is certainly on top! Very nice cutting and finish. Congratulations!

That is excellent work, especially as it's your first piece, I'm looking forward to seeing your second piece now.

Wow, that is a fantastic looking butterfly. I know your friend will like it. That is a great job for a first project. I have done about 7 or 8 projects to far and would be darn proud to make a butterfly that good. Keep working and thanks for sharing. Look forward to seeing your next project.

Wow!  I would be proud to call that my first project, or my 100th!  Great work.  I use lemon oil and either satin finish or semi-gloss finish lacquer for my projects.
