Which operating system are you using?

edward-- These steps may fix the problem but no guarantees.

1. Go to Control Panel.
2. Dbl click on System icon.
3. Click on Hardware on System Properties screen.
4. Click on Device Manager button.
5. Scroll down the list to Sound,Video & Game Controllers and click on plus sign.
6. A list of devices should appear.
7. Right click on Audio Controller line.
8. Select Update Driver from drop-down menu.
9. If this doesn't work you may have to uninstall the driver and then choose Scan for Hardware Changes.
10. You may have to choose other audio devices as well using the same procedure.

This may or may not solve the problem but it's worth a try.

Cheers,
Gadois
