So I had 2 last scraps of an old blue pallet that seemed fitting to make a cross from. I have also tried my hand at painting letters and trying to broaden my skills to more than scroll sawing. This was a quick and easy Sunday morning project!

General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: Spiral Blades
« on: August 20, 2014, 09:36:36 pm »
Spirals are the only blade I use. When I first started scrolling I had an old saw that only took pin end blades. Once I got my Dewalt I've used spirals ever since. It takes practice, you might break a few, they may wear out a little quicker but for me they work just fine. As much tension as possible, run a pretty fast speed if you have variable adjustment. Don't get discouraged!

I make quite a few clocks. I have found klockit.com to be the best place. Simple movements are around $5 with a free pair of hands! Nice work! AJ

General Scroll Saw Talk / dewalt 788 purchase
« on: February 22, 2013, 10:01:09 pm »
Been thinking about getting a better saw and have been shopping around. Home depot has the dewalt on sale for $450. Free shipping. This is the lowest price for a new one I have seen. Is this the one? Or is there a better deal?

Anyone out there making somethin special for that special someone? Due to my upcoming wedding my fiance and I decided not to buy each other gifts this year to save some money so I decided to start steve's heart basket filled with candy to give to her. You know I gotta get her somethin or I'll be in trouble!!

Introduce Yourself. / hello from central pa!

I've dusted off my brothers old craftsman scroll saw to try and broaden my woodworking hobby. It is a pretty old, loud, and bare bones machine. Doesn't even have saw dust blower! It is frustrating at times but I have made it work for now. Looking forward to buying a better saw in a few months. I'm hooked! This is a great site and I've learned a lot so far from everyone. Can't wait to create. See you around!
