Tissue Box
« on: February 15, 2015, 08:26:30 am »
I received a request from a lady to make her a Tissue Box that she could put on her desk at work. I made this box using Walnut and Maple. I cut dove tail joints for the corners and cut a mortise for the lid support. I apologize if I offend anyone since this wasn't totally a scrollsaw project, but I did try to enhance the project by adding some scroll work. Thanks for taking a look!

Nicely done Louis.  Now that you have a standard to work from....do it all by scroll saw... except the routed edge of course .. that would be a bit tough. :)  I am sure she is going to love that.  Thanks for sharing this with us.

I have used the scroll saw to enhance many projects I have worked on.  That is why I purchased the first scroll saw I had.  No need to apologize.  That is as much of what a scroll saw it for, in my opinion as it is for anything else.

That is a great looking box...

We all make things at one time or another that are not solely cut with a scroll saw so there is no harm done, we will not hold it against you.   ;)   The box that you made for your friend is terrific, you did an excellent job.

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments! I was hoping that Russ or Charlie wouldn't pull the plug on my connection for having  posted this project.
