General Scroll Saw Talk / Re: blade clamps
« on: May 23, 2014, 08:14:12 pm »
Hi mister wood. The post you are talking about was on April 9th. I'm sorry you mis read the article but I specifically mention that these clamps don't have the bearing. If you feel wasted your money just email me and I'll buy them from you. I have used them considerably now and they work great after flattening the clamp tip.

Thanks for sharing your story. There is a story behind every name on that wall. So sad to think about the heart break.

If you just purchased the saw I would call the  seller and arrange for a replacement. If you purchased from Seyco give Ray a call and he can probably talk you through some troubleshooting. I'm hesitant to give too much advice on a new machine for fear you will void your warranty.

Bulletins and News / Button blank problem.
« on: May 22, 2014, 12:02:05 pm »
I have the issue with the blank forum buttons resolved with one exception. The gallery button still does not have it's text. I'll work on that later tonight.

Some of the old themes will not work if you change them in your profile. The reason that I changed the theme when I upgraded to this version is because the old and darker theme was only compatible with version 1 of this software. I should have deleted that old theme. Before the upgrade I had the selection to change the theme by use disabled because of issues. I may be doing that again so I don't suggest making too many changes just yet. I'm still working on things.

I'm still trying to find a "Like Button" mod for the forum. I have not come across one that works right yet.

Brag Forum / Project from a reader
« on: May 18, 2014, 01:09:23 am »
I wanted to share a project that a reader sent me. He took my Indian and Wolf portrait pattern and really made it a piece of art. His Name is Ken Blakemore.
The first image is his work and the second was the original.

There are a lot of new users signing up today. I want to welcome you all. The forum might be a little sluggish with so many on at one time. It should smooth back out once everyone gets finished looking around. So far the updated software seems to be running smooth with no hiccups. That's good news. I'll probably do some more tweaking to the interface later tonight so watch for changes. Thanks everyone.

Campasano, time is the one thing I wish I had more of. There are so many things I would like to do on the blog if there were more time. I pretty much do things in marathon sessions late into the night. Let me put it this way. 6:30am came very early this morning after getting the new forum up around 3am. :)

Luckily most nights don't require that much effort. The reason I did that last night is because the forum was on its last leg. It was going to crash at any moment so I just did not want to wait. This version should make it more stable.

I'll see if I can find a mod that adds a thumbs up/thumbs down. It not built into this software but there is probably a mod available.

Thanks guys' good to hear you all like the new look. I like the larger avatars also but they are getting blurred when they are up sized. I'm going to look tonight and see if that can be corrected.

It's pretty obvious there have been some changes to the forum. I did the upgrade from version 1.6.19 to 2.0.7 tonight. I think you will find the changes pretty easy to deal with. It looks different but works much like the old version. I'll be making tweaks for the next few days so be prepared for minor changes. The old version was just too buggy to continue to try to support. If you have questions just drop me an email and I'll try to answer them as best I can. A lot of the new software is still new to me also but I'll try to come up to speed asap.

I am in the process of upgrading the Community Forum from the old version 1.x to the new version 2.x. There are going to be some growing pains while I make this transition. I hate to do this but the old version was just getting too buggy. Thanks for your patience.
