Brag Forum / My first Scroll project (2009)
« on: August 25, 2014, 08:53:29 am »
My wife wanted a nice shelf to put pictures on with a fairy painted on it so I took it one or two steps further.
This shelf has 4 levels and stands 4' tall.
I think there are 5 different kinds of wood used in this one.
Enjoy

General Scroll Saw Talk / Thick Stack Cutting
« on: August 20, 2014, 07:52:14 am »
Morning,

I have been working on an inlay design.  The wood that i have to use is a piece of 3/4" poplar and 3/4" walnut.
I have tried to single cut the pattern twice but the pieces don't fit well together.
Has anyone stack cut anything that thick before and what size and type of blade should I be using?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks
Randy

General Scroll Saw Talk / Spiral Blades
« on: August 19, 2014, 10:54:29 am »
Hello all,

My brother-in-law gave me some spiral blades to use, he says that they are the only blades he will use.
I have not tried them yet.

Does anyone else use spiral blades and is there any advantage to using them?

Introduce Yourself. / Hello from central Kentucky
« on: August 18, 2014, 12:58:08 pm »
Hello all,
My name is Randy, I live in Lancaster, KY.
I have been scrolling for a few years doing just small things before I got interested in lathe turning.
Has anyone ever done both in the same piece of wood?
