are you talking about a new one? if so the 20 " is the best alll around size as far as I am concerned I have a 220 vs that is about 7 years old, cut a lot of heavy production and still as good as new. If it is an older belt drive with three speeds by changing belt on the pullies I would think twice before buying one of these as the variable speed saws are much eaiser to use and more versatile.

I've got the RBI 220 vs (and like it very much), but can't tell you anything about the older belt driven units.  However, I know that there are a number of scrollers on the Scrollsaw Woodworking and Crafts site that use the 220-3.  You might post your question there.

My 220 vs Ultra is a 2004 unit that I picked up brand new, in an unopened box about 3 months ago for $299.  Just couldn't pass that up.  Minor problem for me, but its strictly a bottom feeder.  The 220 vs Ultra is still being sold brand new for $1,200 by Bushton Industries, who took over after RBI.  You might try calling them to see if they can give you any info.
