Excalibur 21 Question
« on: February 02, 2013, 09:35:29 am »
Since this is Saturday and Ray @ Seyco is not in, I have a question for you Excalibur owners. There is a small white plastic set screw in front of the white tension lever that for some reason has vibrated down on my saw. Can anyone tell me what this screw is for and the correct position? I screwed it back up a little, but don't know the correct position? I need to cut today and hope to correct this.

Not in the workshop right now but if I remember correctly it limits the amount of travel on the tension lever.  The correct procedure to set it I don't know.  I have a .pdf copy of the manual I can send to you if you send me your EW_Mail addy.

Thanks Bob. I have the manuel and it displays the screw, but, it is not shown in  position or the purpose. Guess I will just do a trial and error today and call Ray Monday.

Toneman, please post the answer from Ray so we don't have to bother him later for an answer.  I suspect it is not that critical, but what do I know. :)

I had a problem with the tension lever flicking open when cutting, axminster solved the problem by adjusting that screw, it has to do with keeping the tension lever locked in position. exactly how to adjust it I do not know.

You are rite Keefie, I have adjusted mine when the lever wouldn't stay down but it didn't seem to make much difference

Ok, Ray is not at work, but, I talked to his employee and he said the plastic set screw is there to give the blade tensioner lever a stop so when you push down on the lever it will "Lock into place". He said when the lever is up, turn the screw so it hits the blade holder and then turn it back about 1/8 turn.
