Title: PosteRazor, thanks to whoever sent me there
Post by: Dawie on July 22, 2010, 04:08:01 pm
In some thread somewhere somebody recommended the programme PosteRazor for enlarging patterns etc. Only started fiddling with it today. What a super programme! I now at last can enlarge my patterns to the size suggested on the pattern or in the book, without going to a copying machine and fiddle on it for some time to get it to the right size. It practically gets done for me here. And what's more divided into A4 pages so I can print it and easily reassemble the lot. I am very happy and whoever it was thanks a ton. ;) :-*

Hi Kevin it is free. I googled on PosteRazor and found the link. Can't remember the site though. Let me know if you can not find it, then I'll check google history on my pc to see if it's still there. Hope this helps. It's a very simple programme, took me a little while to figure it out, but then I am not that great at pc stuff.

PosteRazor is free. Several threads have been posted on it. I believe Steve Good even posted on commented on it. Might even be on his blog, not sure though. I have used it for several months. Good program.   8)

Wow!  you are right it is a great free program that will solve a lot of headaches when patterns need to be bigger.
Now all I have to do is work on my math :)   example...5 inches needs to be 12 inches....percent of increase???
what is the formula??  I know it is simple math but I only got the "simple" part down. ???

Take the size you want it to be and divide it by the size it is (in your example, you'd do 12 divided by 5).  Multiply your answer by 100 and you get the percentage of increase needed.

So 12/5=2.4
2.4 X 100 = 240

Set your program to increase your image by 240%.  There might be a faster way but this is pretty easy to remember.

You're welcome, Judy.  I am usually asking for help here.  It's nice to be able to give back for a change.
