New Hegner Model????

Went across a very short article about the blade clamps.  Sounded like maybe Hegner modified their terrible design.  Anyone know more?  Danny  :+}

Now it just waiting for theyre reply.

Why not write to Hegner Germany...? Simple.
My german is very bad, i can talk and understand german but i can't write it good enough.
In belgium we talk dutch same as in Holland, so it was an easy choice for me to write to holland.

Anyway, i still didn't get a reply... either they don't care, or they are still fast asleep...
I go for option B.

Yep there is a difference between Belgian and dutch people..lol.

Hi folks,

I  read on a website something about 2 replacement rolls for quick gripping and I first assumed  that this is a new mechanism with quick grip(clamp) for blades.
after reading this topic I went to the website from Hegner and looked in to some technical information.
I found there might not be a quick clamp with rolls after all.
I think (now) that with the "2 rolls for quick gripping"  they are talking about the white nylon rolls from the quick release lever, and not for a quick blade clamp.....

And I for one Thank you for clearing this up....BUT....Gee Whiz!  I was hoping the did decide to change the design.  Still do not like it the original at all.

Do it. Works perfect. I had not a single problem with it since I changed the clamps myself. Best decision ever.

I must be doing something different with my Hegner because I really don't have a complaint about the bottom clamp.  The only time I deal with reclamping a blade into the bottom clamp is when I install a new blade.  When I am only changing to a new entry hole in a piece I pop the blade and holder out of the bottom (through the slot in the table), bring it out where I can see the bottom of the piece I am working on and feed the blade through without having to be a contortionist.  Then I just pop it back in place, again using the slot in the table, and reattach the blade into the top clamp.  So the only time I care what tool I use to change the clamp is when the clamp is in it's little holder on the table and I am completely replacing the blade.  I love this saw, largely for this reason.  I, in essence, get to have the advantage of feeding the blade from the top where I can see the hole, but it's really from the bottom because I take the whole thing off the table to feed the blade through the visible bottom holes.  Actually replacing the blade does require the key, but it's as easy to use and anything else would be.  Am I missing something?

FYI - the Advanced Machinery site does not mention a new scroll saw.  That doesn't mean there isn't one, but they seem to usually have info on the Hegner products. (www,advmachinery.com)
