Adobe PDF files
« on: July 21, 2012, 03:01:13 am »
Hi folks, I have a problem hopefully someone can help me with. I just bought some patterns from Sue Mey. My problems are that I cant figure out how to size them up. I got some Christmas ornaments and there a bit small for me, so I wanted to make them a tad bigger but when i use the enlarge thing it makes em bigger on the screen but they do not print bigger, they stay the same size :(
This very frustrating. I also bought a box pattern from her and it prints out ok except it cuts off the bottom part of the bottom layer of the box by about an inch but does not print onto another page. I love her patterns just need some education on how to fix em :)

When you say you sized them what program are you using?

The latest version of Adobe Acrobat has a poster option that allows you to give a percentage and then when it prints it will put on multiple pages with an overlap strip.

You could open the PDF in Inkscape and then resize the picture but then you have to make your own overlaps if multiple pages.

You could open in Gimp and scale there too.

Let us know some details of the program you are trying to use.

PS:  Rapid resizer may work too.  You could down load the free trial

Ahh ok, see I thought the resize button in adobe did it. So I guess it only resizes it on the viewing page then? I am new to all this so I am going to have to learn to use the other programs. I would love to make my own patterns such as ornaments and stuff. So not sure which one will be best to use?

I just use my printer to resize - smaller or larger works great.  Then I have the original for my file.  Guess I'm just an office worker  :)
